Assemble at Changi International Airport and begin your vacation to Spain with a pleasant flight to Barcelona, Spain. (Meals on board)

DAY 02 : ARRIVE BARCELONA     (Breakfast/Lunch)

Barcelona is an enchanting seaside city with boundless culture, fabled architecture, and a world-class drinking and dining scene.  See Gaudi’s masterpiece Sagrada Familia, a giant basilica that has been under construction since 1882.  Antoni Gaudi, a modernist architect devoted most of his life to the construction of the church and he died without completing it.  Go to Plaza Catalunya, the most central point of Barcelona and here you can see fountains, sculptures and grass verges - a welcome oasis of green in the heart of the city.  Around the square there are some large department stores and Las Ramblas joins Plaza de Catalunya at its South West corner.  Stroll down the Las Ramblas, a 1.2 km pedestrianized walkway lined with stalls, restaurants, bars and street performers.  At the other end is Christopher Columbus monument.  Then proceed to take in the panoramic views from Montjuic Spanish Village to see a sample of Spanish architecture.  It shows replicas of characteristic houses from all regions of Spain, such as from Castile, Andalusion, Aragon, the Basque Country, Extremadura and of course from Catalonia. In some buildings, craftsmen show their skills, such as in the Andalusian quarter in the glass blowers.  Later, proceed to the La Roca Village Outlet for shopping of designer brands at marked down prices.

DAY 03 : BARCELONA / PENISCOLA / VALENCIA         (Breakfast/Paella Dinner)

Depart Barcelona and stop at Peniscola, often called the "Gibraltar of Valencia,".  View the medieval fortified castle built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar.  Then drive along the coast to Valencia, Spain’s third largest city.  Valencia is brimming with cultures, with great bars and restaurants and beautiful stretches of beach.  See the old city of Valencia through the Serrano Gates, locally named Torres de Serrans, or Torres de Serano.  See the 18m high Bullring, a neoclassic building designed by Sebastián Monleón, built between 1850-1860.  The main bullfights take place during Fallas (March) and at the July Fair.  The Valencia Town Hall (Ayuntamiento de Valencia) is a key point of reference for visitors and inhabitants equally. Built in the 18th century in an eclectic style, it is home to the daily hectic movements of officialdom. Another important landmark is the Valencia Cathedral or Saint Mary's Cathedral. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated by order of James I the Conqueror to Saint Mary.  One of the supposed Holy Chalices in the world is revered in one of this cathedral's chapels - this chalice has been defended as the true Holy Grail.  This evening, you will have a Paella dinner, which originates from the city and an identifying symbol of its cuisine.

DAY 04 : VALENCIA / GRANADA                (Breakfast/Dinner)

Leave Valencia and coach towards the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia which has many important examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation of Spain.  Today you will get to see the magnificent Alhambra Complex of Granada with its Moorish architecture.  The Alhambra is the most awe-inspiring fortress in Europe.  It rustles with incredible Arabic myths, and is filled with the whispers of ghosts from times gone by. It's staggeringly beautiful, and feels like a creation from an old story-book, miraculously brought to life.  The complex encompasses royal palaces, serene patios and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife. Next walk the Arab quarter Albaicin located on a hill opposite of the Alhambra complex.  The Albaycin is like a different world within Granada with its strong Muslim influence.  It was the place where the first Siri court was built in the eleventh century.

DAY 05 : GRANADA / SEVILLE                      (Breakfast/Dinner)

Today you leave Granada and cross the Andalusian countryside to arrive at Seville, known as the city of Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro.  Situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville has a rich Moorish heritage, and used to be a prosperous port that carried out trade with the Americas. The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia are lively and busy.  A Seville orientation includes sightseeing of Seville Cathedral.  The Cathedral is one of the largest and most impressive churches in the world. It was built in the fifteenth century at the site of a twelfth-century mosque.  The crowning piece of the Seville Cathedral is the famous Giralda Bell Tower. The tower, which today reaches a height of 98 meters, was originally built at the end of the twelfth century as the minaret of the mosque.  Another popular attractions is the Maria Luisa Park, a leafy park which gives Sevillians a reprieve from the scorching sun during the hot summer months.  Magnificent buildings, a legacy of the 1929 world fair, can be found throughout the park.  Admire the pools and fountains and the beautiful Plaza de Espana, known as Venice of Seville.  The Plaza de España is a majestic architectural complex built as the central office for the Ibero-American Exposition, a world fair held in Seville in 1929.  You will have a chance to walk around the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the historic Jewish quarter with its colourful and vibrant streets, ancient walls, jazmin essence and beautiful hidden patios.

DAY 06 : SEVILLE / LISBON                            (Breakfast/Dinner)

Bid farewell to Seville and cross the Spanish border to Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal.

Lisbon is an illuminated city.  The almost constant presence of sunshine and the River Targus transforms the Portuguese capital into a mirror of a thousand colours – highlighting the city’s unique architecture and beauty.  See the Belem Tower, Lisbon’s most iconic landmark. The tower was built in the sixteenth century in the Tagus river to control the entrance to the city from the sea.  Another attraction is the Monument to the Discoveries, built in honor of Henry the Navigator, who was instrumental in the success of the Portuguese explorations during the fifteenth century, a period now known as the Age of Discoveries.  Visit the Jeronimos Monastery, a highly ornate monastery that is situated in the Belém district of western Lisbon. This grand religious building was historically associated with the early sailors as explorers, as it was from here that Vasco da Gama spent his last night before his voyage to the Far East.

DAY 07 : LISBON / FATIMA / LISBON                        (Breakfast/Dinner)

A scenic drive through the countryside and you arrive at the Shrine of Fatima – one of the most important catholic shrines in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary.  Fatima’s Sanctuary welcomes millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Fatima’s fame is due to the Apparitions of Our Lady of the Rosary that appeared to three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos and her two younger cousins, Francisco and Jacinta. Between May and October of 1917, the three children witnessed several apparitions. The last one, on October 13th, was confirmed by a miracle witnessed by 60,000 people known in the catholic world as “the day the sun danced”.

DAY 08 : LISBON / SALAMANCA                 (Breakfast/Dinner)

Leave Lisbon and make your way to Salamanca.  Salamanca is famous for its culture and for its student atmosphere.  In fact, the University of Salamanca is said to be the third oldest university in Europe, founded in 1218.  Set foot at Plaza Mayor, a large plaza located in the center of Salamanca.  Built in the traditional Baroque style, it is lined with restaurants, ice cream parlors, tourist shops and jewelry stores. It is considered the heart of Salamanca and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful plazas in Spain.

DAY 09 : SALAMANCA / SEGOVIA / TOLEDO / MADRID                   (Breakfast/Suckling Pig Lunch/Dinner)

Leave Salamanca and stop at Segovia.  See one of the best well-preserved Roman Aqueduct.  Then proceed to Toledo, known for its medieval Arab, Jewish and Christian monuments.  Known as the “city of the three cultures”, because Christians, Arabs and Jews lived together there for centuries. Behind its walls Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. This great diversity of artistic styles makes the old quarter of the capital of Castile - La Mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site.  See the Church of Santo Tome, built in the 12th century and completely rebuilt in the 14th century by Don Gonzalo Ruiz, the Lord of Orgaz, one of the most prominent citizens of Toledo. It is home to one of El Greco’s most famous paintings – The Burial of Count Orgaz.  Travel to Madrid in the evening.

DAY 10 : MADRID                             (Breakfast/Dinner)

Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures with a large cultural and artistic heritage, a legacy of centuries of exciting history.  Your orientation of the city will bring you to the main attractions like Plaza Mayor, a grand arcaded central square in the centre of Madrid.  The square is one of the prettiest open spaces in Spain, a winning combination of imposing architecture, historical tales and vibrant street life coursing across its cobblestones.  A few blocks away is another famous square, Puerta del Sol (Gate of the Sun).  One of the best known and busiest places in Madrid, this is the centre of the radial network of Spanish roads.  In the middle of the Puerta del Sol is a large equestrian statue of King Carlos III, installed here in 1997.  See the Madrid Cathedral, dedicated to the Virgin of Almudena.  At the Royal Palace which is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family, see one of Europe’s largest and certainly most impressive palaces. It has more than two thousand luxuriously decorated rooms, fifty of which can be visited.  The interior of the palace is notable for its wealth of art and the use of many types of fine materials in the construction and the decoration of its rooms.  Later, there may be some free time for you to stroll the shopping street Gran Via and admire the often lavishly decorated grand 'edificios'.

DAY 11 : MADRID / ZARAGOZA / BARCELONA     (Breakfast/Tapas Dinner)

Leave Madrid and travel to Zaragoza, a vibrant and elegant university city.  Located on the banks of the mighty Río Ebro, the residents enjoy a lifestyle that revolves around some of the best tapas bars in the province, as well as superb shopping and a vigorous nightlife. But Zaragoza is so much more than just a good-time city, it also has a host of historical sights spanning all the great civilisations that have left their indelible mark on the Spanish soul.  See the city’s crown jewel, Cathedral of El Pilar, an important pilgrimage site.  It was said that an ancient pillar was given by the Virgin Mary to St James and he was instructed to build a church.  At the eastern end from the church is another important attraction - the Cathedral La Seo, located on the Plaza de la Seo.  The La Seo was built between the 12th and 17th centuries and displays a fabulous spread of architectural styles from Romanesque to baroque.  Later, return to Barcelona.  In the evening, enjoy a fabulous Tapas dinner with its variety surely to impress.
